The HEART Program
is a cardiac rehabilitation program for home use. It is a set
of 4 videos along with a 12-page Quick Reference Guide to help
cardiac patients safely rehabilitate after their coronary event.
|
| How
long does cardiac rehabilitation take? |
Traditional cardiac
rehabilitation usually consists of exercise sessions at a rehab
center 3 times a week for a period of 12 weeks.
|
| How
long does cardiac rehabilitation with The HEART Program take? |
The HEART Program's
3, 45-minute exercise videos gently guide you through a similar
12-week time frame, including 2 levels of exercise on each of
the 3 videos. We recommend using one of the exercise tapes 4-5
times each week.
|
| I've
been through cardiac rehabilitation before, how is The HEART Program
different? |
When traditional
cardiac rehabilitation ends, you are expected to continue exercising
on your own. With The HEART Program, you start with a program
that is both convenient and easy to follow, continuing to use
the same program at the level you need for years to come.
|
| How
will I know when to move up to the next exercise level? |
Using your target
heart rate range established by your doctor, and guidance provided
in the exercise sessions regarding perceived exertion, symptoms,
warming up and cooling down, you can feel confident about your
progress to the next level.
|
| Do
I have to travel to a rehabilitation center to use The HEART Program? |
Patients who follow
The HEART Program exercise routines 4 to 5 times a weeks can begin
a dramatic recovery in just 12 weeks.
|
| Is
The HEART Program for everyone? |
Consult your doctor
for guidelines and recommendations before using The HEART Program.
Factors such as your cardiovascular risk, general health concerns,
and medications are a few things that should be taken into consideration.
Your doctor can determine whether The HEART Program is right for
you.
|
| How
will I learn more about my heart? |
The HEART Program
includes a 43-minute educational video, teaching patients about
the different aspects of cardiovascular disease. This includes
on-screen graphics, animation and easy to understand terms that
can be viewed anytime you need to refresh your memory on a subject.
